It's frustrating for interested users to see that they comments seem to vanish to Nirvana, we need at least 2 available moderators  (more or less 24/7)

We should avoid that too many people waste time with looking whether there are new comments. I wonder whether there is a possibility to generate an automatic warning to a handful of people if there are comments pending more thant 12 hrs.

Again we have some Blog comments waiting for  approval, I do not have permissions to approve comments for other people's postings.

I didn't even realize there were comments until I got your comment on
this bug. I used to get moderator approval notifications... now I don't.

Do I only get mod-approval msgs for comments posted against my blog post and
not others?  If so, is it possible to get all comment-mod-approval posts sent
to me as well?

I wonder if we should just auto-approve comments if possible?
Anyway, I'll look into the mail thing, as in if more blog authors/admins can get mail notifications for comments on all postings.

Looks like we need a separate plugin for this. There are a few plugins already installed, but no plugin that will send out notifications to multiple people. On wordpress.com you could follow the blog and opt-in to mail notifications on new comments, but looks like this is not possible in an easy way on our blog.
