Details

Currently there is more action on a leveled cemetery than in our Blog - we should change that.

I am willing to do some work for coordination, creation of contents, technical solutions (I am planning to create a new localized SeaMonkey sidebar what might simply show a news page of the blog) and so on.

For all details I will create child bug reports, please also feel free to do so.

If you see a blonde high-school cheerleader by the name of Buffy Summers wandering around that cemetery after dark you'll know why.

Thank you for doing all these. Much appreciated.

Does there need to be a bug created so, now that there are a number of authors, the blogger's name is include in the blog?
(In reply to Ian Neal from comment #2)
I am currently thinking about some improvements for the blog like
- Show author's name
- connect with social networks
- modify preferences so that we have some more room for posting contents between
  all those menus and similar
- Add some pages with "About", Blogroll and so on.

I think for now it's enough to mention these ideas here, and I will discuss with other blog authors and administrators. We will see whether that will work.
Some more ideas how to improve the blog:
e) Tag Cloud
f) Authors list with latest postings
g) counter for visitors
"Bug 1176562 - Please add SeaMonkey Blog to planet.mozilla.org " is related to this one

I also enabled broadcasting to the SeaMonkey Facebook page now (https://www.facebook.com/seamonkey). But it will ask you before it actually publishes a new post there as well. I need to see how/if it can handle when you e.g. edit a post on Wordpress. Oh and btw: Please publish to the SeaMonkey account only, not to my personal account ;) I changed the default visibility of posts by the Social to "Only me" for my personal account though, so if you publish to my account as well, noone except me will be able to see it.
I might pull over some rather new blog posts as well to our SeaMonkey Facebook page via the Social plugin.
So, there seems to some kind of problem(?) with "Likes" from Facebook generating comments like
"Joseph Anthony liked this on Facebook."

This itself might still be fine, but those comments actually don't appear on the blog. I only see them in the admin dashboard for the blog. The "View Comment" link includes an non-existing anchor for such a comment.
Ah, I forgot to un-check "Disable Social's comment display (use standard theme output instead).". Ok, so now we also see Facebook likes there. Not sure yet if I like this new comment view (input welcome :).

So, some answers to this (afaik):
- author's name was initially not supported in that blog theme. See https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/post-author-in-coraline I used the advice in one comment there and added the following Custom CSS to the blog:
".byline { display:inline;position:static;margin-right:4px; }"

This seems to work fine. But do we want that? Maybe some authors just want to post as "SeaMonkey blog". For now I disabled this again, but in general it works. Even though I know you can find the author out by looking at the source code.

- The blog is connected to Facebook now, the author can choose if posts should go to Facebook as well. In general I would recommend this. Maybe not every post if there are too many posts, but other than that, why not.

- Yeah, will look at some additional pages there.
