Steps to reproduce:

1. Clicked on a folder with messages (intentionally not on a root of my folders).
2. Right mouse / Search messages ...
3. Choosing "Run search on server" does not matter.
4. Match all of the following.
5. Body / Contains / <a phrase to find>
6. Search


Actual results:

Nothing has been found.
Despite the fact I'd chosen a phrase I copied from one particular message.



Expected results:

A message found.

NB I have reported this issue separately from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=853393 as the messages (to be found) are NOT base64 but TEXT/PLAIN.

I can confirm this bug.

I have also run into the problem that text in Base64 encoded emails in IMAP folders is not found by the search. I'm using Thunderbird Version 31.7.0 on a 64bit Ubuntu system.
