Dear Mozilla: I have a question about install apps. For example:captain rogers,if I played it. There are some data downloaded in cache partition & data offlinecache. And I want to know why it needs download the data to /cache & /data/local/offlinecache
Hi Alphan, I think cache will be cleaned once device restarted. Thus application will save datd which they like to persist in usrdata. Can you provide more information? Thanks!

As I know, OfflineCache and /cache is different. OfflineCache should be a web technique. However, I don't familiar with offline cache. Need someone to describe more about it. Ref: MDN: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Using_the_application_cache

Hi Tim, Could you help to shed some light about when FxOS will use offline cache & /cache? Thanks!

Comment 2 is entirely correct. Gecko currently offers 3 levels of caches (soon 4), you can read some detail of the current desktop Fx profile by visiting about:cache - Memory cache - disk cache - appcache cache I think disk cache is map to /cache and appcache is map to /data/local/offlinecache. Is this really a bug or this is simply a question? Should we discuss this on dev-b2g instead?

Which operator? 3.Can the appcache move to sdcard?
Hi Tim, This is partner concern and question regarding Woodduck as it is very storage space limited. The game app "captain rogers" in this bug as example is consuming both spaces which make it very easy to reach out of storage situation. (http://cl.ly/image/2k0N200i3o3b) Partner just like to know the reason behind and is this possible to workaround like a setting to save all cache in bigger partition. Do you think we should discuss this in dev-b2g? Thanks!

Please loop the Necko or B2G system folks on this. I am not the expert of how Gecko is being set to run on Gonk. (In reply to Josh Cheng [:josh] from comment #7) > Do you think we should discuss this in dev-b2g? IMHO, "Difference between /cache & offlinecache after installed apps." is a general question that should go to the list. "Change the partition of /cache & /data/local/offlinecache or do some magic to remove duplicated entries" is a desired goal to be worked on and specific enough to be tracked on here. I've changed the title to reflect that.
