(Whiteboard: [gfx-noted])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 Build ID: 20150525141253 Steps to reproduce: Start VMware View 5.2, connect to a machine and try to type a German Umlaut character like ä, ö, ü. Actual results: Nothing happens, the special characters do not show up. Other special characters like ß or é are ok. Expected results: One should be able to use German Umlaut characters with Firefox and VMware View.
Why do you think this is a bug in Firefox?
Component: Untriaged → Graphics: Text
Product: Firefox → Core
As it's not an issue with other browsers (Safari, Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer) I assume it's a bug in Firefox.
Do you know if it worked fine with previous versions of Firefox? You can find the versions here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
It didn't work with previous versions of Firefox. I forgot to mention that the issue also exist in Firefox for Linux (if it's important).

The bug was documented long ago in 23 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=909280). And it is still present here in 41.0.2, both on Win8 and Linux. It seems to be easily solvable, as it is due to missing KeyDown Codes (s.above bug). Would be very nice to solve it finally.
