Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011221 BuildID: 2001122106 When new mozilla is installed over existing version, installer spits out error dialogs between installer finishing and opening the browser first time after install. Below is a list of texts from the "OK"-buttoned dialogs: XPCOM:EventReceiver: Mozilla.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point ?ToNewCString@nsString@@QBEPADXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll. XPCOM:EventReceiver: Mozilla.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point ?ToNewUnicode@nsString@@QBEPAGXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll. XPCOM:EventReceiver: Mozilla.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point ?ToNewCString@nsString@@QBEPADXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll. This has happened on several 0.9.x installer releases and has done that on at least two separate machines. I don't know if this is related to having a previously installed copy of mozilla or if this happens on first time installation as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. [Perhaps install a bit older release of mozilla first] 2. Use the latest normal win32 full installer release to install the browser. 3. Actual Results: The installer/browser spits out the dialog boxes as described. After clicking OK on the dialog boxes it starts out the browser as expected (although theme setting has changed from the original setting). Expected Results: Not show any error dialogs.
never install an new version on top of a old version. First remove the old version.
