Turning off data connection in settings doesn't actually turn of data for me at the moment.

STR:
With a sim in , and data connection enabled, toggle off data connection

Expected:
Data connection is no longer availalble

Actual:
Data connection is still available.

Ah one thing- when I first disabled data, I had internet sharing ENABLED (which makes no sense of course). But later I went back and disabled internet sharing and I still cant disable data. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but just FYI.

Ok weird, now its actually disabled. Maybe it just takes a while....?

Thanks Paul. I think this is related to responsiveness and user perception which might be able to be improved. There's discussion about improving hardware icon behaviours (meta Bug 989590) and this data call icon would need to follow the design applied to others, such as BT, WiFi, Airplane mode, as well IMHO. Let's discuss more!

b.t.w. we are still using Settings API to enable/disable data call. Might need to take it seriously that we design a WebAPI for that purpose.
