When selecting a certificate for signing email, they show up like normal, but when you close the prefs window it's all forgotten. Messages can't be signed and re-opening the prefs window shows the default settings (eg no certs). Copied the prefs from an old prefs.js and signing was possible, I just can't select the certificate from the prefs window.
i noticed the same thing and filed a bug report last week under Account Manager. However that one still shows as UNCONFIRMED. Maybe we get more votes this way? :) http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117714
