In bug 1177576, we're updating the icons for mixed content blocking so it will no longer be the shield icon, but rather a set of icons that reflect the mixed content state.

The mock in bug 1177576 has some small errors in it, but it's pretty much correct and I can provide screenshots when I've finished updating the icons.
I'm almost done with the first part of the new mixed content UI - we no longer expose the link, but I'm trying to figure out where we can add that back.

Just keeping this on the radar for SUMO.

Thanks for the heads up, Chenxia. I'm the content manager for SUMO, so I can get the article updated when it's time. I'm need info'ing myself to keep this on my radar.

Summary: Update SUMO article for Mixed Content icons → Update Mobile SUMO article for Mixed Content icons
Hi Joni, all of these changes have been landed, so they are on track for Firefox 42!
Hi Joni, I wanted to check in on this bug because I didn't see any drafts for the new mixed content changes in bug 1181780. This is different from the tracking protection work (which uses the shield icon).

The UI has changed a lot, and we no longer use the shield icon to signal mixed content states, but rather the lock icon, or a caution icon, in combination with the doorhanger.

If you want, I'm more than happy to chat with you about what all the icons/states mean.
[Tracking Requested - why for this release]: The mixed content changes are shipping in 42 and the UI has changed significantly from the old SUMO article.
Thanks for checking in. I was waiting for 42 to land on Beta so it looks like we're ready to update the article.

I've set up a draft here: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1IsXeQztxzPelcY7cKK4DkH9g1SKzCc61jMW8vTVe3vk/edit?usp=sharing

Can you take a look and let me know if I have it right? Also, there's no way to disable the mixed content blocker in the UI, right? At least I didn't see it in Beta, so I added about:config instructions.

Thanks, Joni! I left a comment (I tried to be detailed) about what the grey triangle means - it does not mean that mixed content has been blocked, but rather that some is loaded. Please ping me if you have more questions!

Not tracking, we won't block the release for this.
Looks like this is live on SUMO: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-insecure-content-affect-safety-android
