Updating like recommended from Seamonkey client.


Actual results:

New Seamonkey crashes immediately.


Expected results:

No crash?

Modified some details due to user story and crash reports.

Such a crash can be caused by outdated add-ons and 1000 things more (I can't read crash reports). Did you try a launch of 2.33.1 via profile manager with a clean new profile?

I recommend to ask for support at mozilla.support.seamonkey

Most likely you hit, Bug 1092810 - startup Crash after migration data from Seamonkey v.2.30 Final to Seamonkey v2.31 Beta 1 Build 1 [@ nsRDFPropertyTestNode::FilterInstantiations(InstantiationSet&, bool*) const ].

Another, less likely possibility, Bug 1114305 - Seamonkey v2.32 Beta 2 Build 1 crashes after updating german language-file in addon-manager.

Is there a way how i can save my profile from 2.30, and then after updating to 2.33.1 can reimport that profile?
I dont want to loose all my profile data, emails, etc.

User story was written with 2.30 because i wasnt able to use the perma-crashing 2.33.1 version.
I had to go back to 2.30 becasue i cant start over with a new empty profile (i need my data).

Before such tests I simply create a copy of the profile folder. After a test I delete the used profile folder and rename the copy to the real folder name.

You can simply extract the 2.33.1.installer.exe, in cdm command line interpreter CD to seamonkey.exe folder, launch "seamonkey.exe -ProfileManager" and create a blank new profile for a test whether SM will start without crash with that new profile.
