User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0
Build ID: 20150630154324
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch firefox in Windows 7 in maximized state only and load a webpage.
2. Connect or Disconnect external monitor. The secondary display should be connected only in extended mode.
3. Also there are more chances to get this bug if the secondary display has different desktop resolution than that of the primary display.
Observed this problem on Windows 7, Windows 8.1
This issue is also seen on Developer edition too.
Actual results:
The browser client area is moved by few pixels while the window is still in maximized state. Refer the attachments.
This issue is also causing rendering artifacts while rendering video content using NPAPI plugin.
This distortion of client area is removed if the browser is minimized or restored and then maximized again.
Expected results:
The browser client area should be in sync with the browser window.
Summary: Firefox window client area is distorted when external monitor is connected or disconnected in Windows OS → Firefox application window is moved by an offset when external monitor is connected or disconnected in Windows OS
