As a user, I would like to send the web page that I’m browsing on my Firefox for Android browser to the TV by pinning it to the TV home screen

Our current plan is to implement this feature in addon and provide an entry point in the Sharing UI. However, current Sharing UI can only plugin additional functionality by extending |ShareMethod| in Java. I didn't find a way to insert a widget via add-on API as well. Need Margaret's advice on the possible implementation approach.

There is currently no extension hook for add-ons to add anything to the Sharing UI.

If you're not familiar with developing add-ons for Firefox for Android, this is a good place to start:

You could add a "page action" icon in the URL bar:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Firefox_for_Android/API/PageActions.jsm

The idea of a context menu item also came up in bug 1201918. It looks like that bug covers the same information as this one... we should dupe them. Which way would you prefer to do that?

Thanks for the information @mfinkle and #margaret. Per our discussion today, "pin webpage to TV" is a TV-specific feature and "send URL to other device" is a common one. Therefore, we should keep this bug and bug 1201918 separate because they have different approach.

I'll try using "page action" for this feature first.
