Steps to reproduce:

I want to use the VMware Client Integration Plugin to authehticate via Windows SSO against the vsphere Server.
With Chrome 44 this works.


Actual results:

Firefox is asking for an Application to Open vmware-csd-link. I selected the sugested Aplication, and the vmware CSD service is Running, but Firefox don't enable the Windoes Authehtication option and wants to install the Client integration Plugin again and again....


Expected results:

The Windows authentication option should be enable if the CSD service is running, and aber first configuration the login shoul be automaticly.

Probably Asynchronous Plugin Initialization issue.

Could you set about:config > dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit = false (restart FF) and test again, please.

This crash report doesn't help, if FF crashed, type about:crashes in the location bar and copy here the link of the crash report (bp-...).

So does it work normally with dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit = false?

If it still doesn't work normally with asyncInit = false then this is not an asyncInit issue.

In comment #2, he said asyncInit = false improved his issue despite of the crash.

Maybe the reporter could clarify if asyncInit = false changes something to his problem and which problem is remaining after that.

I had this exact same problem. The VMware Client Integration Plugin worked with IE and Chrome but not with Firefox. I completely uninstalled Firefox (including user data) from my computer and re-installed. All bookmarks, etc were reloaded from my sync account.

After the reinstall the plugin worked great. The version of Firefox is 43.0.4

Thank you @Pat Allen. With his hint it works at our Site.

Firefox 44.0 Windows 7 or 10 and Clientintegration Plugin 6.0.0

We had to deinstall Firefox and the Client Integration Plugin and delete the complete Firefox Profile (only the places.sqlite we import to the new installation).

After restart and complete new installation (ff 44.0 and CIP 6.0.0) it works.
