1197871 - browser.pocket.enabled=false sometimes leaves bookmark entry active

Setting browser.pocket.enabled to false usually both removes the pocket icon from the toolbar, and removes the icon from the bookmarks menu.

However if pocket was once manually removed from the toolbar, and later re-added, then then setting browser.toolbar.enabled to false removes it only from toolbar, not from the bookmarks.

Might be related to bug 1171569.

Resetting the pref "browser.toolbarbuttons.introduced.pocket-button" does not help.

Still happens in firefox-43.0a1.en-US.win32.installer.exe

Steps to reproduce:
- wipe profile
- start firefox
- remove pocket icon from toolbar
- customize toolbar: add pocket icon
- goto about:config, set browser.pockete.enabled to false
- restart firefox

Result:
Pocket entry is present in bookmark menu.

Is this the menu button you're talking about? If so, then I guess I don't need to file a new bug report, as I have the same issue as you. (Additional note: this menu entry cannot be deleted like a regular bookmark.)

Hallo allerseits,

bei mir hing das ziemlich sicher mit dem Add-On Greasemonkey zusammen. Nach Deaktivierung des Add-Ons ist und bleibt (bisher) der Eintrag im Lesezeichenmenü verschwunden. Keine Ahnung wie das zusammenhing...

Good to know I'm not the only one, then.

Translated Gruß Marsson's comment into English and he's saying that when he disabled the Greasemonkey Add-on, the menu entry went away. I can't reproduce this.
