User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150812163655

Steps to reproduce:

I typed the word "infeasible".

Actual results:

The spell checker added a red squiggly line under my word, and upon right-clicking on the word it suggested "unfeasible".

Expected results:

It should accept "infeasible", which is an English word in both US and GB dictionaries. It should reject "unfeasible", which is not a word in either dictionary.
Both are correct: http://www.economist.com/blogs/johnson/2012/07/variation
Component: Untriaged → Spelling checker
Product: Firefox → Core
Great citation, thanks! The absence of "infeasible" in the en-us dictionary (and probably in the en-gb dict too) still stands as a bug IMO.
(Comment 3 is incorrect, as discussed in bug 1183512 comment 2. Reopening & tagging that comment as obsolete.)

(I still don't think, maintaining dictionaries is a job for core developers.)
In any case, "infeasibly" and "unfeasibly" should also be added.
The en-GB dictionary has:

defeasible
defeasibly
feasible/PY
feasibly/I
indefeasible/Y
infeasible
unfeasible/Z

As I said in bug 1144254 comment #9, I think it's a bad idea to use core developer time to maintain dictionaries. IMHO, like this, we will always deliver a substandard product.
Comparing to the en-US add-on dictionary (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/united-states-english-spellche/) (all searches are for "feasibl"):

feasibleness/M
feasible/UI
feasibly/U
indefeasible
indefeasibly

Mozilla version:
feasible/U - patch adds /UI.
feasibly
indefeasible
indefeasibly

Add infeasible, infeasibility, and unfeasibility to the en-US dictionary

The adverb "feasibly" also needs to be modified, see previous comments.

As per bug 1238031 comment #12 this has been added to SCOWL and will make its way into the Mozilla dictionary upon refresh from SCOWL 2016-01.
Will be added by bug 1240916 (or bug 1241494).
Depends on: 1240916, 1241494
No longer depends on: 1238031
Fixed by bug 1240916. The SCOWL 2016.01.19 data contains "infeasible".
