Details
Attached file 353.pdf
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
Build ID: 20150914030205

Steps to reproduce:

Sent a pdf as attachment in an email.

Actual results:

People receiving the mail tell me they can’t open the file because their system tries to do so using the media player. Indeed, the attachment is marked as video/x-flv. Saving the file and opening it works, but that’s not ideal.

This does not trigger with all kinds of pdfs, but not sure exactly which ones (I had at least this issue with Scribus output ones, LaTeX ones and LibreOffice ones). I’ve attached such a PDF.

Expected results:

The attachment should be application/pdf instead, and opening it from your mail client, whatever it is, should work directly.
Perhaps problem of bug 503309. Read that bug and bugs listed in dependency tree for bug 503309.
You can know why such phenomenon occurs, what's wrong in mail sender and Thunderbird, and rcovery procedure.
