Details

(Whiteboard: [dupme])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150826023504

Steps to reproduce:

When Thunderbird can't write to Local Folders/Trash (a separate problem filed as bug 1209747), this error pop-up appears upon each attempt to move a message there.

The messages could not be filtered to folder 'Trash' because adding a message to it failed. Verify that the folder is displaying properly or try to repair it from the folder properties.

This is not only extremely annoying but also blocks my ability to stop the operation (such as downloading new messages or compacting folders) that is causing the problem.

Expected results:

The message should appear only ONCE, and should cause the operation to immediately stop without attempting to get or move any additional messages.

The same goes for any other error message that implies messages cannot be successfully moved or downloaded.
