Odd, I'm unable to reproduce this on my Windows 10 (64-bit) laptop w/ FF 44 Nightly.
My notifications appear in the lower-right and stick for ~12 seconds and currently include a little animation on show/hide.
Will try and re-verify on my Win 7/8 VMs (both 32-bit, via modern.ie).

it's also more broken than before, like it haves bigger padding.
(i could see it but couldnt screenshot it, happens regardless of Aero/Composition/UxSms on/off)

https://pdehaan.github.io/push-notification-test/ works for me using "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0" (32-bit Windows 7 VM w/ Parallels)

the "excessive padding" i've seen is similiar to bug 1216692

Talked over IRC with :juest and we confirmed that this was due to the Growl notifications add-on.
