See bug 1179703 for more details. I logged the following when connecting to a new network while already connected to a different one:

onstatuschange:  CodeChopsAP24 connecting wifi.js:149:9
onstatuschange:  CodeChopsAP24 associated wifi.js:149:9
onstatuschange:  CodeChopsAP24 connected wifi.js:149:9

This was in FTU, but the same should be true in Settings.
Firefox OS is not being worked on
