User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20151103023037 Steps to reproduce: Win 10 64bit, TB 45.0a1 (2015-11-05) I added three attachments to an outgoing email but none were actually added. The "attachment box" is not opened to show what attachments are to be sent. I sent a test message to myself after attaching one of the attachment to see if the attachment was actually included and it was not attached. Actual results: No attachment sent or received.

Correction to "No attachment sent or received" By received I mean e-mail I send with attachment is not received by the recipient - not that I'm not receiving attachments from others. I also noticed that the attachment name and/or filename is not getting populated on attachments the I receive. The paper clip icon is all that gets displayed.
Does the problme go away if you start Thunderbird 38.4.8, with Windows started in safe mode per - win10 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/change-startup-settings-in-windows-10 ??
