User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0
Build ID: 20151105030433
Steps to reproduce:
Enable copy of sent message to be saved to 'sent' folder. Use a smart card with a stored s/mime certificate. Send a message.
Actual results:
The copy of the sent message is saved in the 'sent' folder as plain text.
Expected results:
All local copies of messages sent should optionally be automatically encrypted with the local users s/mime (or pgp) cert. Why? Additional security on local machine.
Why?
Presently, only outgoing messages that are encrypted are saved in sent folder encrypted. If I send a message to a recipient who does not have s/mime or pgp, I am then forced to save my message unencrypted as well (if I make use of sent folder). This exposes message to risk of future unauthorized access at the local machine. As my own cert clearly exists, I should be able to avoid this by enabling encyption of all local copies of sent messages (optionally, of course).
