Steps to reproduce:

 1. Create tabs for various websites and wait for them to finish loading.
 2. Type '%' in the location bar to show a list of switch-to-tab entries and note their appearance.
 3. Clear all history.
 4. Once again type '%' in location bar and compare with before.

Expected result:

Clearing history should not affect the appearance of switch-to-tab entries.

Actual result:

Clearing history removes the title and favicon of switch-to-tab entries leaving only the URI, this makes it much harder or even impossible to search for open tabs and visually identify them in the list of results.

This issue was brought up when switch-to-tab was first implemented (Bug 480350, comment 83) but there was no outcome.

Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
This is expected for how things are coded right now, to do it differently we should store the tab icon along with the open tab uri, but at that time it may not be available... Conforming, but very tricky and unlikely.
