My phone detected that we are now in utc-5.

App like telegram or css3clock displays the right message time. However the phone clock is wrong and displays the UTC time. (home screen and notification bar at the top right)

To fix that I had to switch from automatic to manual then select a timezone in utc-5 such as Bogotá and then switch back to automatic.

The UTC-5 problem is a limitation due to the fact that we can't determine the geographical timezone when we receive the time from the network. See bug 1208807 comment 15.

But the fact that there is a discrepancy between some apps is not covered by this bug here above mentioned. I'm suspecting the clock app doesn't use the same JS time (like the discrepancy found in bug 1208808).


[Blocking Requested - why for this release]: Issue that can happen to real users, and seems to be located only on the clock (unlike the work to be done in bug 1208807).
