User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20151223140742 Steps to reproduce: I was using Firefox v42 until I thought the bugs were worked out in v43. I downloaded the full v43.0.3 Actual results: After running the installer, and starting the browser, I found that settings were changed. "xpinstall.signatures.required" had been set to False. But when the browser started, it informed me add-ons were disabled. I checked and found "xpinstall.signatures.required" was now True. Expected results: The installers should not be changing user settings. I reported this long ago; Firefox Full Installer Changes User Settings https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1031347
Component: Untriaged → Preferences
I have met and know it may be expected behavior. But it indeed may cause to trouble, because this value will not be restore when the user returns to the old versions. This bug is likely to be WONTFIX, due to the late report and too late to reimplement.

This is a TERRIBLE idea, removing all control for the user. I have several addons that I routinely add patches to, because the project is dead or the developer refuses to add the feature. Removing the ability for the user to bypass these settings will almost certainly force me to switch from firefox.
