User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150812163655 Steps to reproduce: I performed a global search (cmd+K) that returned a bunch of results. I wanted to select a subset of these results with the same subject line to count how many of them there were. Since it's not possible to sort or filter by subject line in the standard search results pane, I clicked "Open email as list" to view the results in a filterable table. Actual results: However, upon doing so, I could manipulate the messages in order to group and then select the messages with the desired subject line. However, the "total messages", "unread messages", and (when I selected some messages) "selected messages" counts do not appear in the status bar at the bottom of the pane. Expected results: The totals should appear at the bottom of the view-search-results-as-list pane just like they do when viewing a folder. (When searching an account using the "Search Messages" dialog, it shows the total number of matches found in a sortable/selectable view, though it also doesn't show the number selected. Not an issue for me since I typically need to search all accounts with a global search, though someone else might want to open a separate bug for that one)

Yeah, that's because this pane is not operating on a folder nor a custom view. I'm not sure it's going to be possible to do this. Alternatively if the results you want are all in one conversation, right click one of the messages and do "open in conversation"
Summary: Show message totals (selected/unread/total) when viewing global search results as list → Show message totals (selected/unread/total) in statusbar when viewing global search results "open email as list"
Same subject, but different conversations, but thanks for the workaround suggestion and I appreciate you taking a look at this. My head's still scratching... When you do the global search, it reports how many messages are in the results (i.e. it says "10 of 830" on the same bar as the link to "Open email as list"), so somehow TB has the ability to count the total number of messages, even if it just borrows from the number gathered in the global search results view to show the total in the status bar, instead of calculating the total after it has opened the list view. And when viewing the results in list view, you can select multiple messages and process them in bulk (e.g. right click > Mark > as read). I don't have a clue how TB works on the back end, but it feels like if it can do that, it should be able to count and report how many messages I've selected. Maybe not the exact same way it does with a folder, but should be able to do it nonetheless?
