User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/47.0.2526.111 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I configured a new email account. Under 'Server Settings' I unticked both "Check for new messages at startup' AND 'Check for new messages every xx minutes' Actual results: New emails are still being retrieved from the server. Expected results: I would expect this to prevent Thunderbird from checking for new messages.
Is that an IMAP account? Did you select the inbox folder? If so it's probably by IDLE. You can disable that in the imap server Advanced properties.
