1241641 - Remove carets in our Menu, replace with "..."

We have these carets in our menu right now for the Page and Tools items. 

I understand why they're there but I don't think it's necessary. Also, this is the only place in our UI/UX that uses this metaphor. 

I think we can remove this and just replace it with "..." after the items as shown in this mock.

We should also be able to remove the assets afterwards, I don't think we use these carets anywhere else.

Do you know the l10n implications here, Anthony? Do all locales recognize ellipses? I suppose if we include it in the String to be translated, the locales themselves can figure out the best substitute for their locale.

I'm not sure exactly. But I don't have a reason to believe so. 

The other side of this (that I briefly mentioned as well) is that we don't use this caret anywhere else. We have carets in our panels UI but they're styled and used differently in there. So this is an opportunity to unify a bit as well.

We should hold off on this one for now. I think this needs some more UX thinking since it actually touches on more parts of the product than I originally thought. 

But if your looking for some of these fennec-polish bugs to start on maybe bug 1242629 or others in that meta would be interesting to you? let us know how we can help!

Why WONTFIXing this, though? Was it really put on hold because of fears that a ellipsis isn’t universal in all languages? Bah, everybody who has used a computer in the last three decades knows what are ellipses for in UIs.

I don't disagree, but as stated in comment 4, this needs more thinking. And we have more high priority items ATM.
