User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID: 20151208100201 Steps to reproduce: Use a mailbox on Gmail or Openmailbox.org with TB 38.5.0. Get server-side folders with email getting to them because of filters. Get some new mail to such folders. Click "get messages" any number of times. Actual results: When new email arrives to folders, the folders' unread mail counters are not updated until you manually select the folder, then it connects to the server and updates the counter and the list of emails in the folder. Expected results: Folders should be updated automatically and new mail should be fetched automatically.

Almost the same happens for me with TB 78.7.1 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 20.04.

The "Important" folder shows Email for which the counter of other folders wasn't updated.
For instance, a folder named "Bugzilla" shows no counter number after the folder name, indicating there's no new Email in that folder. The "Important" folder shows an unread Email which belongs to the "Bugzilla" folder. Clicking on the latter updates shows the unread mail and updates the folders counter.

Still the case with TB 116b1

Is this still happening with 124.0b1 or 115.8.0?

Is this still happening with 124.0b1 or 115.8.0?

I have two systems running TB:

  • one running stable, currently at 115.9.0
  • one running beta, currently at 125.0b5

Both versions seem to have correct unread counters after the sync with the server has completed. I no longer need to click on a folder for the unread count to become correct.

Flags: needinfo?(ringo)

Thanks for the feedback!
