[Affected versions]:
- Firefox 44.0.2 build 3
- Firefox 45 beta 5
- latest Developer Edition 46.0a2
- latest Nightly 47.0a1
[Affected platforms]:
- Mac OS X 10.7.5
- Windows 7 64-bit
- Ubuntu 13.04 32-bit
- Windows 10 64-bit
- Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit
[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Open Firefox
2. Click bookmark icon twice (so the Edit this button menu opens)
3. Click on the dropdown near Folder filed
[Expected result]:
- All the bookmarks folders are shown and there is no layout issue
[Actual result]:
- Windows/Linux: The whole panel flickers
- Mac 10.7.5: A scrollbar will be visible briefly in the new opened field
[Regression range]:
- This is not a regression, it reproduces back to Nightly from 2013-11-19, when the Australis theme was added by default.
[Additional notes]:
- This is not reproducible using Mac OS X 10.11

Actually, let's leave this as [New] since we managed to replicate it on several test environments. Please check the [Affected platforms] & [Affected versions] sections from the bug report in the future.

Well, I understand the flickers now, it is due to a layout update (panel resize) and once only after per-click. Anyway, I think this bug is a "trivial" problem. I has checked them before modifying, changes was in order to a double check.

Seems like we should avoid the intermediate state painting here, which smells like a XUL/layout/graphics issue to me.

Closing this report because the UI has changed and the original issue is no longer reproducible.
