Marlon suggested we improve the Save As dialog to be like attachment 68228 [details].

What happens when we add subsequent options, like maybe bug 121793?
we add more icons?
Where?
Next to these, I guess. Marlon or mpt would know.
That would be really ugly if we got to more than three different types.
Unfortunately this solution will not make this release.

I hope it never makes any release.

(I don't think it's likely to, either, since it allows no room for the `Text
File' option which has been implemented since that mockup was produced.)
Ok, that unexplained statement was uncalled for. Sorry, Marlon and everyone.
It's past my bedtime.

If Mozilla was the only program which people frequently saved files with in
Windows, and if the save as text feature hadn't been implemented, I think this
would be a good idea, because it's marginally more usable than an option menu,
and preferable to an option menu if there are only two options.

But people use Word and Publisher and Outlook and lots of other programs which
all use an option menu, not a radio group, and in this case I think the harm
from the obvious inconsistency is greater than the benefit from the local
optimization. In addition, the mockup shows that there would be no room for a
save as text radio button.

Our nsIFilePicker integration doesn't really allow for this at the moment.
