Build ID: 20160209234642
Steps to reproduce:
This is not a bug - but an enhancement request. (where is the option to choose the type of report?)
Actual results:
Currently, Firefox 44 has the option to mute sound from specific tabs.
But the sound icon appears only when a video is playing.
Expected results:
My enhancement request is to enable muting the sound from a specific window (which may include many tabs) before any music and/or video is being played. ("Muting in advance")
For instance, you may open four windows, but wish that the sound will emerge only from one of them. So you mute the sound of the other three windows and allow the single window to play sounds.
NOTE: This request is different than the following request:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=334987
It is different because that the request in the link wishes to track the sound from specific tab - but my request doesn't need tracking.
Furthermore, as far as I understand, my request is considered quite easy to implement.
Also it seems natural to add this feature because that muting sound from tabs is already present. ("So why not from windows?")

Marking as P5. This sounds like a good idea but unlikely to be done soon.
