Developers would select one or two Categories to fit their app's functionality when submitting a test app, for example, "Games", and then developers need to get their app's Rated by IARC.
In the IARC request page, developers should select an APP Type, and continue to go through all the questions.
In this time, should we limit only few types are available for developers to select, such as "Entertainment", and "Game". Developers won't see other irrelevant types, like "Social networking, Forums, and UGC sharing"?
In IARC v1, developers can't select APP Type, they need to go through all Content Questions, see attachment iarc_v1.png.
In IARC v2, developers can select any APP Type they want, even if they select a wrong type to get certificate. But not all the questions will appear on every Type. For example, Type "Social networking, Forums, and UGC sharing" only includes the questions for Miscellaneous. See attachment iarc_v2.png.
I'm not sure if this is working on design, so opened this bug for discussion.

This is a good question. Krupa and I discussed it this morning.
While it would be ideal for our Categories to all map to their App Types, there's no guarantee that that's the case, nor is there any mechanism for use to set that data -- so this is actually a CANTFIX (It's in the app developer's best interest to get an accurate rating, so I'm not worried about them trying to game the system).
