I own the domain sxd.be and all emails addressed to <anything>@sxd.be will end up in one inbox, for which I created an account in Thunderbird. I use a lot of different email addresses, as I create a unique email address for every new website/company I register with. My problem is, I cannot easily send from different addresses in Thunderbird: I can only provide one sender address in the account settings (e.g. sender@sxd.be). When I respond to an email send to receiver@sxd.be, I cannot use that recipient email address when I respond, other than by manually changing the sender address in the account settings before I create the new email. I must make sure not to forget to change it, or I will be mixing various sender accounts. It would make sense to allow manual editing of the from: field in the compose new email window, as this is much more convenient than changing this in the account settings. It would be super awesome if I could setup Thunderbird to use the email address the email was delivered to when responding.
Already implemented in bug 87987. Will be released in TB 45 in mid-March.

I've switched to the Beta channel and confirmed this introduces the ability to modify the "From:" address, which is awesome. AFAICT it doesn't address my second feature request, for which I will open a new bug.
