User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Have emails open in tabs, say yes when thunderbird asks to compact mailbox, compact completes, attempt to select open emails in tabs.


Actual results:

Emails open in tabs will become blank where the email was previously displayed when selected. All information is gone other than truncated tab title (subject?)

Sometimes tabs will disappear. 

Sometimes some tabs will disappear and some of them will become blank inside. 


Expected results:

Emails appear as normal, no tabs disappear, state of open tabs should remain consistent.

This bug actually goes back a couple of years, I have been experiencing this through many versions not just 38.6.0
