User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0
Build ID: 20160303134406
Steps to reproduce:
Highlighted and copied an article in Firefox 45.0 into a new message in Thunderbird 38.6
Actual results:
All text formatting and links were lost and no images were copied.
Expected results:
Text formatting and images should have been carried intact into the new message as they have been in all prior versions of Firefox.
Does it work if you copy the HTML text to a rich editor like http://ckeditor.com/demo or https://www.tinymce.com/docs/demo/basic-example/#liveexample ?

I used Internet Explorer to copy the same article into Thunderbird and it carried all text formatting and images intact. I also copied the article from Firefox into a Word document and all formatting and images were again carried intact (using the word paste option of "Keep Source Formatting".
I do not have the other editors installed.

I appear to be having the same problem. Links and pictures copied from Firefox 45 do not show up when pasted into Thunderbird.
Copying from Firefox and pasting into MS Word, then copying from Word and pasting into Thunderbird works. The pictures and links appear.
Copying from a web page opened in the Chrome browser and pasting into Thunderbird also works, with pictures and links appearing correctly.
This problem did not occur before Firefox 45. So it appears to be a bug in Firefox 45.
I see the same thing. With 44.0.2 the links are present. With 45 they are not. I made a screenshot in Thunderbird to show the difference: http://i.imgur.com/kNncV54.png
I checked about:config and in both clipboard.plainTextOnly was set to false. I am in Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

This is happening to me on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit:
Firefox 45.0 -> BlueGriffon 1.8 Build 20151013145831 (based on Gecko)
Copy+paste has been working fine for months until FF 45.0 came along.
(For the first time in my life I am being forced to use Microsoft Edge just to get copy+paste to work correctly. Otherwise it would take me all day to retype everything into BlueGriffon from the source document.)
