As reported in https://webcompat.com/issues/45325
Full screen mode works only as long, as firefox is the active app in split screen. Whenever Ii try to use the other app, the full screen mode automatically disengages. This problem never occured in Opera app or Chrome app.

This has been fixed in Fenix (Firefox Preview), both for regular browsing and PWAs.
