I see this on .9.8 Linux - The first frame is screwed up, with white blocks.

dup of bug 22607? The 12th fram uses "replace" and mozilla seems to clip wrong.
The selection is displayed, but all outsite it renders white background instead
of the background frame (frame 1)

bug 86508 was onto "first frame", but resolved fixed.
I'm marking this dup 86508 and re-opening that one.

Doesn't look like a dup of bug 86508. The testcases there are OK now.
This case is not about the first frame, but about the last frame, going
transparent to page background instead of to background frame of the gif.

From RKAa's breakdown this is evidently not a dup of 86508, so I re-open / verify.
I can't tell about 22607.

Only the animated portion of the image redraws - the rest of the image is shown
just white in the last frame under W2K with today's nightly.  As previously
noted, related bugs are bug 22607 and bug 86508.
