I'm seeing some severe graphics corruption when using Intel HD Graphics 520 / 530, see screenshots. The corruption only happens sporadically (but quite often), mostly after opening a new window/menu or visiting a new page (I wasn't able to find a reliable way to trigger it so far, though).

I was able to see this issue on two systems now:
* Dell XPS 15 9550 with i7-6700HQ Processor, i.e. Intel® HD Graphics 530
* Lenovo ThinkPad T460s with i7-6600U Processor, i.e. Intel® HD Graphics 520

While the XPS 15 also had a dedicated graphics card using Nvidia Optimus, the T460s only has the integrated GPU!

Graphics Driver version on the T460s is 20.19.15.4380 (latest Lenovo certified driver). Since I don't own the XPS 15 anymore I cant' give more details here.

The issue was confirmed on the T460s with a clean profile (find about:support attached)

Likely the same issue (not much information though and was attributed to Optimus so far which does *not* seem to be the case here): bug 1260258

Similar artifacts but with older Intel GPUs: bug 1060820 and bug 1095966

Are you able to reproduce the issue with old versions of Firefox like 40 or older?
I actually have the same problem but at least for me it's kinda random, I may use Firefox all day and not see it, or I open it and already have it, or I just get it mid session, also an HD 530, been like this since I have this CPU, so that's since December.

I believe I've seen Intel say they're working on the problem in their forums, so it's probably a driver issue...

Pretty sure disabling Hardware Acceleration prevents this, it doesn't happen enough for me to bother though.

Just chipping in to say ... WOW grey courier font is difficult to read on a HiDPI screen! Sorry ... to say that I'm also hitting this on my Dell XPS 15 9550, intel driver 20.19.15.4390.

I'm also seeing sporadic driver crashes and restarts (usually when doing benign things in a cygwin bash console of all things...)
Driver version 15.40.23.4444 (aka 20.19.15.4444) seems to finally solve the issue.
It's currently available as beta from Intel [1].

m4xc4v413r4@gmail.com, could you test the new drivers 20.19.15.4444 fix your issue too.

I also have the same issue. I checked with my friend having Mac El Capitan, he also faces similar issue on Firefox
Hi, it's still the same issue with the latest Lenovo driver 20.19.15.4444 (Release date : 3 June 2016), based on the beta Intel 15.40.23.4444, for a Lenovo T560 running Windows 10 Pro x64.

Occurs on Firefox, Windows itself, "Power BI", ...
Same issue with Microsoft Power BI
Are you sure the driver was correctly installed?
I actually used this exact driver version (packaged by Lenovo) on a T460s and it solved the issue for me!

Hi Eduard, my colleague will retry by removing the driver in the Device manager (we didn't do that. We just "upgraded" the driver by the latest one),then reboot, then install the latest lenovo driver. I'll come back to you and give the results. I hope it will solve it, indeed. Thanks

Eduard, that doesn't solve the issue.

Actions done :

1) removal of the package driver in Device Manager
2) reboot
3) installation of the latest lenovo driver

=> still the same...

Next steps :

1) fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro (however,Windows 10 is not clean by default *private joke* :-) )
2) installation of this driver
3) installation of Firefox and MS PowerBI

Yup, mine is Intel HD Graphics 520 and have exactly same problem too.
And is also very easy to reproduce the bug, by maximize and minimize the windows.

Quite annoying sometimes, hope to get fixed.

Hi,

The 4463 solved the issue in Firefox and MS Power BI. There are still some black squares (like QR codes :-) ) that appear during half a second when you click on a "folder" in Outlook 2016, in the list of the messages.

i just bought a new skylake laptop that comes with the intel hd 520 card. It currently has the 20.19.15.4364 driver. Current driver from intel ends in .4501. I will test and report back tomorrow
in my limited testing, the new driver fixes the problem for me. i am curious on why an intel driver bug would only affect firefox and not a single other application, so my first thought was that this was a firefox bug. it's not like firefox hasn't had some hinting/text rendering bugs before, but this was the most severe i can remember.
Eduard, could you update your Intel card to the latest driver and test again to confirm the issue is fixed or not, please.

Just to say I also had success with the Beta 20.19.15.4444 driver.

I dare not upgrade to test however, as I've too much work on to spend time troubleshooting or dealing with sporadic crashes again. I had a lot of trouble getting my laptop's 3 display drivers to play nicely together. (It looks like it was the Intel driver all along, taking down my Display Link drivers.) But I also had to roll-back and then disable Windows 10 Updates due to regressions in driver stability. Maybe in a month or so I'll be brave & free enough to try the official Intel driver.
Let's just re-open this if it happens again with the new drivers. I was experiencing similar problems that went away with a driver update (similar to Luke's experience in comment 27).

Hi,
FYI, Same bug here with
- i7 6500u Intel® HD Graphics 520 (driver version 20.19.15.4390 (disappear when I choose Nvidia dedicaced GPU for Firefox)
- i3 6100t Intel® HD Graphics 530
Just testing new driver
Hi,

I bought Acer Aspire E5-575G-70YZ, which has i7 6500u Intel® HD Graphics 520, and I am experiencing same problems as all of you(with driver version 20.19.15.4390). Is any of the available versions of the driver from intel page fixing the problem?
And why is it driver "the latest", if there are 5 or 6 newer version on intel page?(This version was on CD i got with laptop, on acer page and is dowloaded via windows update)
