On Lothar computer: With hardware acceleration turned off Youtube 360 doesn't load 360 controls With hardware acceleration turned on controls still don't load. The problem persists in release version 45.0.2 Updating the driver from 8.15.11.8593 to 9.18.13.908 allows the 360 controls to load properly. Uploading about:support documents for each driver version.

YouTube 360 requires WebGL which isn't supported in basic layers. For example: "GPU Accelerated Windows: 0/1 Basic (OMTC) Blocked for your graphics driver version. Try updating your graphics driver to version Nvidia driver > 8.17.12.6901 or newer." in https://bug1267700.bmoattachments.org/attachment.cgi?id=8746248

I'm going to close this as invalid because WebGL can't be supported without hardware acceleration and YouTube 360 relies on WebGL.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → RESOLVED

Resolution: --- → INVALID
Note that hardware acceleration checkbox turned on is not the same as hardware acceleration turned on. See in about:support GPU Accelerated Windows: 0/1 Basic (OMTC) This means hardware acceleration is disabled.
