As documented in bug 1273014 and bug 1263969, the "Content Notifications" user-experience is a bit mysterious / unexpected at the moment, and the reasons behind a particular notification appearing are not discoverable or user-visible. This feature clearly needs some love, but it seems we don't have cycles to address these pain points at the moment. Margaret suggests in bug 1273014 comment 6: > I think we should consider disabling content notifications on Nightly > until they can get some more active development cycles. I agree; hence, filing this bug. Margaret, do you know who might be able to take this?
