What were you doing at the time?
Does it happen with THunderbird 45?
The stacktrace you attached - was a different time than bp-7e4dea13-db1d-41bf-ad8c-c55ee2160609?

Switching between one folder and another within the same account. Similar hang-ups happen sometimes when trying to attach a file.
> Does it happen with THunderbird 45?
No idea. Kubuntu 16.04 has only 38.8.

The stacktrace was generated while Thunderbird was stuck (you can see all threads waiting for each other).
It is not possible for Thunderbird (but it should be possible in general, using gdb) to generate a crash signature in that state. What I did is to force a return from one of the threads from within GDB. That, of course, generates a crash that can be reported.

Does it also happen with version 45?

I think it has something to do with remote/samba mounts. There is better info on the most recent report. And it is with 45.2.0
