User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build ID: 20160606200529 Steps to reproduce: Upgraded Thunderbird beta to version 47 (got notification pop-up, clicked on "install"). I'm running SUSE Tumbleweed. Actual results: The windows drawn by Thunderbird 47 show vertical scrollbars all the same color from top to bottom -- there is no visual indication of the "elevator" presence or size. (I did not try testing a horizontal scrollbar.). I am able to click within the scrollbar - and the window content is properly repositioned. I am able to "drag" within the scrollbar (and the window content is appropriately moved) - but I do NOT see the "elevator object" that I'm doing the dragging of. Expected results: When the content I am looking at exceeds the window's size, the vertical scrollbar should visually show an elevator object.

This is probably a gtk3 issue. Could you try Firefox 47 from the same repository you have TB? Maybe you could also check the latest comm-central build <http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-central/> to check if this is fixed now.
As far as how I got Thunderbird 47 - I downloaded it by clicking on a link that only mentioned "beta channel" - in other words, I have no idea what repository it was being fetched from. On a different Linux system I *did* have one of the earlier Firefox versions not show me the scrollbar elevator. But that Linux system is by now running Firefox 49, on which the scrollbar elevator does show up as it is supposed to. -------- When I unpacked http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-central/thunderbird-50.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2 , its Thunderbird version *does* show the scrollbar elevator the way it is supposed to. .
Thank you for testing. I close this bug with WORKSFORME because the problem is fixed in an later version.
