Steps to reproduce:

1. turn on quick filter bar
2. click/focus on message body
3. press Esc key once or twice



Actual results:

4. Quick filter bar dissapears



Expected results:

5. Quick filter bar should not diappear on hitting esc. 

I think it did not happened - it is a regression.

This is intentional - working as designed.
You will find this is also true for find text in a message - ctrl+f

Really intended? 
I do not mean that it becomes inactive. I mean it dissapears and no longer shown and has to be turned visible via menu.

yes, that is the intended behavior. similar to the way ESC also closes most dialog boxes and windows, like tools | options, like search dialog ctrl+shift+f, like filters dialog

ok, thank you. not happy about it, since there is thus no way to make that bar permanent, but ok.

most ppl don't want it permanent, for screen real estate.
why not stop hitting esc?
Or you can pin it - pin is no the left - but then two esc keys will close it.
