I'm running icedove version 1:45.1.0-1~deb8u1 on my amd64 Debian jessie box. I had installed the -dbg package for symbols and had it running under gdb because it has been crashing recently. See also bug #1287108 but probably unrelated. Thunderbird issues are sometimes not core, so until we have a reproducible testcase or have a fix in bug 1112741 I think it's better to keep this bug open in Thunderbird. (rank is now #117 in version 52.2.1)
