The comment in the code added in c1b0512e0b7b implies that the intention was that this bug should remain open for a fix that allows the tests to run on Ubuntu 16.04.

this might be the same root cause bug as bug 1332902 which is the only leak we see on mochitest-gl

I believe this is not an issue anymore, yesterday we landed code to run all mochitest-media jobs on 16.04, specifically for linux64-asan and it looks good so far!
