still crashes, and I get the dialog as well. I will attach the talkback data next
neither IE6 or Opera5 use quicktime to display the image, consequently they do not crash. NSCP4.7 also crashed when attempting to display the image Talkback Data: Incident ID 4011067 Stack Signature KERNEL32.DLL + 0xa388 (0xbff7a388) f5d9bbef Stack Trace KERNEL32.DLL + 0xa388 (0xbff7a388) KERNEL32.DLL + 0xa550 (0xbff7a550) KERNEL32.DLL + 0x18dc4 (0xbff88dc4) QUICKTIME.QTS + 0x1b30e4 (0x629b30e4) 0xf000f84d 0xffffff00

This problem was mentioned in bug 103934, though that was not the focus of the bug, and it was mentioned this was filed as a Quicktime bug. The real problem seems to be that the QuickTime plug-in forces its PNG handling upon Mozilla (see bug 69719) which can in theory be disabled in the QuickTime control panel, but is currently broken (bug 103934). I don't think bug 69719 should have been closed yet, but I'll take that over there. If Mozilla did not accept overrides for handling its core media types, this wouldn't be a crasher.
According to eric.carlson this happens due to invalid png file and is addressed in the next version of the QuickTime player. Marking INVALID.
