Steps to reproduce:

I fired up thunderbird, created a new mail and pressed the send button. As i fired up thunderbird freshly i have to enter the password for my digital certificate on the smart card. 




Actual results:

So, when i press "send", the password dialog appears and in the same moment the "sending status / progress window" in front of the password dialog appears with stolen focus. this is very annoying.



Expected results:

I expected the send-status-windows to appear not until the password dialog was finished. 
At least it woud be nice not to have the focus on the status windows.

FYI.
Bug 942610 is for that "Focus of composer window" is stolen by "Toaster popup of new mail notification" etc.
It's similar to this bug: "Focus of password dialog" is stolen by "Sending status/progress window".
Setting dependency for ease of tracking.

lurak, is your problem gone in version 52?  
If yes, then this is a duplicate of bug 1234317.
