User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build ID: 20160623154057 Steps to reproduce: I use thunderbird with a with many emailadresses in a new createt adressbook (not personal or collectet). in this adressbook I have adresslists. when I get an email from an unknown adress, I want to save it in this adressbook. I open the email and press onto the star next to the adress. the star becomes yellow. I press again on the star to change the characteristics (name and adressbook) to save the adress. Actual results: The new adress is now saves correctly. But thunderbird sorts the new adress in one of my lists and delets an old adress at this place. it's not only deletet in the list, but also in the adressbook. I don't understand in which list thunderbird sorts, it's different. Expected results: the new adress should be saved but not sortet in a list and no old adress should be deletet.
I don't recall whether this code resides in AB or message reader
Component: Untriaged → Address Book
Summary: email adress gets deletet when I add a new one → email adress gets deleted when I add a new one
As a guess, this sounds like known problems of ghost-entries when working with mailing lists: deleting ghost-duplicate from mailing list deletes the real contact, then left with none. Exactly as described I doubt it can happen, but I haven't tested yet.
Summary: email adress gets deleted when I add a new one → Contact (email address) gets deleted when I add a new one to custom AB using star (involves mailing lists)
Severity: normal → S3

Is that listed in https://mzl.la/3HkuysL ?
And does the problem still occur, in any form, in version 102?

The problem I was thinking about at the time was bug 758969, which I've recently closed wfm. The only remaining known incarnation of that is my bug 1799368, which isn't this case.

Is that listed in https://mzl.la/3HkuysL ?

No.

And does the problem still occur, in any form, in version 102?

No, from a quick check on the rather fuzzy steps of comment 0, this bug doesn't happen in TB 102.5.1.
Anyway, whatever this was would have to be refiled with clean steps against 102.
