I haven't been able to reproduce this consistently, but the STR are roughly: * Visit a page that hasn't been bookmarked yet. * Press Cmd+D or click the star to bookmark the page. * Click anywhere within the "name" field to position the cursor, select something, or just start typing a new name. After about a second, the popover disappears. The page was bookmarked, and the name has everything I typed up to that point...but I still need to click the star again and finish the rename. This time, it doesn't auto-dismiss, and I can finish the rename. I can post a screencap the next time this happens, but it's bizarre because it's intermittent. Bug 783247 seems related, except that one is about creating a new folder in the popover, whereas I'm just renaming the bookmark. I also don't have Sync enabled on this profile. FWIW, I'm on OS X 10.11 with the latest Nightly, though it was also an issue on 10.9.
Most likely something in the event loop spinning that Sync does causes Bug 697649, but perhaps it shares a different root cause with this bug.

Jaws, could this be bug 1290011? I didn't realize the bookmark popover had a timeout, but that might explain it.
