Maybe this should go under enhancements, or both here and there, but... I am not sure if ie follows the/any standard or not but I like the print function works. Basically, if you goto file/print, the browser remembers whatever settings you set for the rest of your session using the browser. It SHOULD work this way in my opinion, standard or no. On the other hand if you press the print toolbar button and change a setting (which you cannot do with the ie version I use) it only uses the new setting for the current print job. Again, it SHOULD work this way, standard or no... The way it is now I have to go to the global printer settings, ala start/settings/printers... to bbe able to say, print multiple copies or both sides on a series of web documents, and this is not a good thing considering I share my printer with other pc's... Thanks, Doug Shy

sujay: we really don't have guidelines for stuff like this (it's an enhancement request), the bug is about as clear as it can be. [i think] reporter: please correct me if i'm wrong. [oh and the one thing you should have included that actually matters is a buildid] IE behavior, and what you want: file>print gives a dialog, the info filled out is remembered the next time you try to print. print button gives a dialog, the info filled out here is not remembered. Mozilla behavior: you can't persist settings.

When you use the print button in IE, you don't get a dialog at all. I "assume" that it uses the same settings as specified under File - Print.
Reporter, is it working for you with Mozilla 1.0?
Summary: Print button vs file/print → Print button does not remember settings like File>Print does
The Print button should use the same settings as File>Print regardless of whether clicking the Print button shows a dialog. -> Printing
